Developmental Milestones

The developmental milestones give a general idea of the changes to expect as a child gets older. Research has proven early help can make a difference for your child. If your child is not meeting the developmental milestones for his/her age do not wait to reach out for help.

At three months of age, most babies:
* Make cooing sounds
* Wiggle and kick arms and legs

At six months of age, most babies:
* Reach for objects and pick them up
* Imitate speech sounds

At 12 months of age, most babies:
* Pull to a standing position
* Make “ma-ma” and “da-da” sounds

At 18 months of age:
* Say at least six words
* Point, make sounds, or try to use words to ask for things and follow simple directions

At two years of age, most children:
* Recognize familiar faces
* Imitate other

At three years of age, most children:
* Play with other children for few minutes
*Put on their shoes
